Overview
A sport of *Hosta* 'Piedmont Gold' registered in 2000, 'Satisfaction' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its dark green leaves with wide, yellow, slightly rippled margins. The leaf blades measure 9 inches (22.9 cm) long by 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide, with 11 to 12 pairs of veins and a cordate base, displaying a slight gloss on both surfaces.
In the Garden
Reaching a mature spread of 50 inches (127 cm) and height of 24 inches (61 cm), this moderate-growing, mounding hosta is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its bold leaf pattern pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials that complement its green-and-gold variegation. The medium size makes it appropriate for border fronts, woodland gardens, or as a specimen in shaded beds.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor regularly and take protective measures if necessary.
