Overview

Registered in 2006, 'Roxy Moxy' is a small sport of an unidentified parent, distinguished by its lance-shaped green leaves with creamy white margins that exhibit light twisting, folding, and moderate waviness. The leaf blade is greenish white with dark green streaks, while the margins measure 0.6 to 1.3 cm wide and are slightly rippled.

In the Garden

This compact cultivar reaches 20.3 cm in height and 38.1 cm in diameter, with scapes rising 20.3 to 30.5 cm. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, as is typical for variegated hostas, and its small size makes it suitable for rock gardens, front-of-border placements, or container cultivation. Companion plants with contrasting foliage textures, such as ferns or heucheras, complement its muted coloration.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry spells, particularly in the first growing season, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Roxy Moxy' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
