Overview
Registered in 1999, this giant hosta cultivar resulted from a cross between *H.* 'Northern Halo' (pod parent) and *H.* 'Paul's Glory' (pollen parent). It is visually distinctive for its large, heavily textured blue-green leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins, a glaucous bloom on both surfaces, and a cordate base.
In the Garden
With a mature spread of 67 inches (170.2 cm) and height of 46 inches (116.8 cm), this upright, fast-growing plant commands substantial space in the shade garden. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its glaucous foliage maintains its color. Suitable companions include ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials that contrast with its broad, blue-green leaves.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Fertilize in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
