Overview
Registered in 1999 by the Russ O'Harra Hosta Society, 'Rosanne' is a miniature hosta distinguished by its narrow, lance-shaped green leaves with gold, slightly rippled margins. The foliage exhibits a slight sheen on the upper surface and is borne on light green scapes reaching 14 to 18 inches (35.6 to 45.7 cm) in height.
In the Garden
This compact, fast-growing cultivar forms a mound 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, making it well suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. It thrives in partial to full shade and pairs effectively with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas. Its diminutive size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from deer and monitor for slug damage, especially in damp conditions.
