Overview

Registered in 2011 by R. McWilliams, 'Robb's Dream' is a large hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinguished by its broadly ovate, blue-green leaves with creamy white and white rippled margins, often exhibiting medium green streaking, and a glaucous bloom on the undersides.

In the Garden

This cultivar performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas. At maturity, it forms a substantial mound approximately 35 inches (89.9 cm) in diameter and 20 inches (50.0 cm) tall, with a moderate growth rate. Its large size and bold leaf pattern make it suitable as a specimen or accent in shaded borders, and it pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The scapes reach 35 to 39 inches (89.9 to 100.1 cm) and bear glaucous green flowers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While 'Robb's Dream' has good substance, standard slug and deer deterrents are recommended in areas where these pests are prevalent.
