Overview

Registered in 2010, *Hosta* 'Rippled Treasure' is a medium-sized cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'Lily Pad' (pod parent) and *H.* 'Rosedale Doughboy' (pollen parent). This cultivar is visually distinguished by its blue-green, elliptic-ovate leaves with heavily rippled margins and a glaucous bloom on the undersides, combined with a dull upper surface and a fast, mound-forming growth habit.

In the Garden

'Rippled Treasure' forms a dense mound 14 inches (35.6 cm) tall and 38 inches (96.5 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its medium green, heavily rippled leaves provide textural contrast when paired with fine-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*. The green scapes, reaching 27 inches (68.6 cm), support pale flowers typical of the genus.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer in typical hosta-growing zones.
