Overview
Registered in 2003 by J. Wilkins, this medium-sized cultivar results from a cross between *Hosta* 'Herb Benedict' and *Hosta* 'Love Pat'. 'Reverie' is visually distinctive for its deeply cupped, intensely corrugated blue-green leaves with creamy white centers and broad, slightly rippled margins, a color pattern that reverses the typical hosta variegation.
In the Garden
'Reverie' reaches a mature spread of 35 inches (88.9 cm) and a height of 15 inches (38.1 cm), with an upright growth habit and slow rate of increase. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-leaved hostas, where its glaucous bloom and corrugated texture are most pronounced. Its medium size suits it for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shaded beds, paired with ferns or other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Reverie' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, though its heavily textured leaves may offer some resistance.
