Overview
Registered in 1976 by P. Aden, 'Resonance' is a small hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually defined by its narrow, lance-shaped green leaves with white margins, forming a compact mound.
In the Garden
'Resonance' reaches a mature diameter of 11 inches (27.9 cm) and a height of 7 inches (17.8 cm), making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with other small shade perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or miniature epimediums. Its small size also makes it an excellent choice for trough gardens or small-scale woodland settings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Resonance' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
