Overview

Registered in 2014 by K. Schwarz from a sport of *Hosta* 'Zig Zag' originated by M. Zilis, 'Rendezvous' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with creamy white, slightly rippled margins. The upright, moderately growing clump reaches 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with elliptic leaves 6 inches (15.2 cm) long and 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide bearing eight vein pairs.

In the Garden

'Rendezvous' performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, where its glaucous leaf bloom and creamy margins remain most pronounced. Its compact dimensions make it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings, where it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials. The upright habit and moderate growth rate allow it to fill space without overwhelming neighboring plants.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While typical hosta-growing zones apply, the glaucous leaf coating may be less pronounced in full sun; slug and deer damage should be anticipated in garden settings.
