Overview

Registered in 1992 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Krossa Regal', 'Regalia' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green foliage with rippled leaf margins and rounded leaf bases. The leaves measure 9 inches (22.9 cm) long by 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide, with 9 to 10 vein pairs, and the plant forms a mound 24 inches (61.0 cm) tall and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter.

In the Garden

'Regalia' performs best in partial to full shade, where its blue-green coloration remains most pronounced. At maturity, it forms a substantial clump suitable for mid-border placement or as a specimen in shaded beds. It pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials, and its medium size makes it appropriate for both garden borders and large containers.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Regalia' is susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
