Overview

Registered in 2004, *Hosta* 'Rebecca' originated as a self-pollinated seedling of (*H. 'Marilyn'* × *H. 'Tardiflora'*). This medium-sized cultivar is visually defined by its blue-green leaf centers with medium gold, slightly rippled margins, a combination that becomes more pronounced as the season progresses.

In the Garden

*Hosta* 'Rebecca' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 39 inches (99.1 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the gold margins remain brightest without scorching. The fast growth rate and moderate leaf waviness make it suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover beneath deciduous trees; companion plants such as ferns or *Heuchera* provide textural contrast.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as foliage is susceptible to both.
