Overview
Registered in 2009, this large hosta cultivar originated as a seedling of *Hosta* 'Let's Streak' F5 with an unknown pollen parent. 'Razz'n Rick' is visually distinguished by its blue-green leaves with creamy white margins that are streaked with medium green, pale yellow, and creamy white—a pattern that persists in mature specimens.
In the Garden
'Razz'n Rick' forms an upright, slow-growing clump reaching 34 inches (86.4 cm) in diameter and 19 inches (48.3 cm) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-green hostas, and is suitable for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or as a specimen plant. Its large, broadly ovate leaves with cordate bases and moderately wavy margins pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer deterrents are advisable, as both pests may damage the foliage.
