Overview
Registered in 2004 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Raspberry Sorbet', 'Raspberries and Cream' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves with narrow, greenish-yellow, heavily rippled margins and purplish-red scapes. The leaves are ovate with rounded bases, measure 6 inches long by 3.5 inches wide, and display 6 to 8 pairs of veins with a moderately wavy texture and slight shine on both surfaces.
In the Garden
Reaching 7 inches in height and 18 inches in diameter with a mound-like habit and moderate growth rate, this compact hosta is well-suited for shaded borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs effectively with other small hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its small stature makes it an excellent choice for troughs or small pots.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly in shaded, moist locations.
