Overview
Registered in 2001, this large cultivar resulted from a cross between *Hosta* 'Green Marmalade' and *Hosta* 'Halcyon'. It is visually distinctive for its broadly ovate, deeply corrugated leaves that are dark green streaked with medium green, light green, greenish yellow, and yellow, all edged with gold margins. The leaves are heavily rippled along the margins, very shiny on both surfaces, and moderately cupped, with the plant producing a graceful, prostrate, multi-colored foliage mound.
In the Garden
Reaching 25 inches (63.5 cm) in height and 28 inches (71.1 cm) in diameter, this upright-growing hosta is suited to partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its moderate growth rate and large, colorful leaves make it an effective specimen or accent plant in shaded borders and woodland gardens. The medium green scapes, rising 30 to 35 inches (76.2 to 88.9 cm), bear lavender flowers in summer.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate control measures.
