Overview

Registered in 1998 as a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Undulata', 'Outhouse Delight' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its narrow, lanceolate leaves with white margins and a green center irregularly speckled with white. The leaf margins are slightly rippled, and the blade surfaces are dull on both sides, with a rounded base and four to five vein pairs.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature height of 6 inches (15.2 cm) and a spread of 18 inches (45.7 cm), 'Outhouse Delight' forms a compact, fast-growing rhizomatous clump suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hostas, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or spring bulbs. Its small stature and rapid growth make it an effective groundcover in shaded areas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as both pests may damage the foliage.
