Overview
Registered in 2009 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Nuki Girl' is a giant cultivar distinguished by its exceptionally large, broadly ovate blue-green leaves with slightly rippled margins and a glaucous bloom on both surfaces. The leaves are moderately cupped, wavy, and corrugated, creating a flowing, cascading effect in the clump.
In the Garden
With a mature spread of 63 inches (160 cm) and height of 28 inches (71 cm), 'Nuki Girl' requires ample space and performs best in partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its upright, fast growth rate and substantial foliage make it suitable as a specimen plant or as a bold accent in woodland gardens and shade borders. The large leaves pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials that contrast in texture.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most large-leaved hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents.
