Overview

Registered in 2007 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Paul's Glory', 'Neon Glory' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its bright golden-yellow leaf centers framed by thin, intensely blue-green margins. The leaves are ovate with rounded bases, measuring 6 inches (15.2 cm) long and 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide, with 8 to 10 pairs of veins and slightly rippled margins that are 0.1 to 0.2 inches (0.3 to 0.5 cm) wide.

In the Garden

'Neon Glory' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 25 inches (63.5 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to light shade, where the gold center remains bright without scorching; too much shade may reduce color contrast. This small hosta is well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture, and pairs effectively with fine-textured shade perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, though the thick leaf texture offers some resistance; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
