Overview
Registered in 1980 by L. Simpers, this medium-sized cultivar resulted from a cross using *Hosta* 'Golden Circles' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its rounded, blue-green leaves with blue-green margins and 13 pairs of veins, forming a dense, symmetrical mound.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Neat and Tidy' reaches a mature spread of approximately 32 inches (81.3 cm) and a height of 30 inches (76.2 cm), making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its compact, mounded habit pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials, and it performs reliably in typical hosta-growing zones.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as foliage may be susceptible to browsing.
