Overview
Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Nanc' is a small, mound-forming cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its medium green leaves with unstable, streaky creamy white margins and very shiny surfaces on both sides.
In the Garden
'Hosta' forms a compact mound 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) tall and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and is well suited to rock gardens, container plantings, or the front of shaded borders. Its small size and shiny foliage pair well with other miniature hostas, ferns, or small woodland perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage the foliage, so monitor and manage as needed.
