Overview
Registered in 1992, 'Missy' is a miniature hosta derived from a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Saishu Jima'. It is visually distinctive for its narrow, glossy green leaves edged with medium yellow margins, forming a compact, low mound.
In the Garden
'Missy' reaches a mature spread of 18 inches (45.7 cm) and a height of 8 inches (20.3 cm), making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones. Its small size and refined foliage pair well with other miniature hostas, ferns, or small woodland perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor and manage as needed.
