Registered in 1985 by R. Benedict, this miniature hosta was selfed from *H.* 'Neat Splash'. It forms a compact mound of narrow, lance-shaped leaves with green centers and margins that transition from white to creamy yellow as the season progresses.

In the Garden

*Hosta* 'Minnie Bell' reaches a mature size of 5 inches (12.7 cm) in height with a spread of 8 inches (20.3 cm), making it suitable for the front of a border, rock gardens, or trough plantings. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, as is typical for hostas, and pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or miniature ferns. Its diminutive stature also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents.
