Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek through the American Hosta Society, 'Marbled White' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar derived from a seedling of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its dark green ovate leaves with creamy white streaks and margins, a shiny underside, and wavy leaf margins.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height and 50 inches (127.0 cm) in diameter, with scapes rising 60 to 72 inches (152.4 to 182.9 cm) high. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border plantings or as a specimen in woodland gardens.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
