Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek for the American Hosta Society, 'Lyme Regis' is a small hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. Its distinguishing feature is golden yellow leaves with narrow, dark green, slightly rippled margins, creating a bright gold center with a fine green border.
In the Garden
'Lyme Regis' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and is well-suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its small size makes it an excellent choice for container cultivation or as an edging plant alongside other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, especially in containers, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
