Overview
Registered in 1980 by P. Aden, this medium-sized cultivar resulted from a cross between *Hosta* 'Fascination' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Intrigue' (pollen parent). It is distinguished by its blue-green leaves with chartreuse and cream white margins, borne on a compact mound.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height and spread to 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, making them suitable for mid-border positions or as specimen plants in partly shaded beds. The 9-inch (22.9 cm) long, 6-inch (15.2 cm) wide leaves with six vein pairs provide moderate textural contrast when paired with finer-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*. This cultivar performs best in typical hosta-growing zones with protection from afternoon sun to prevent marginal scorching.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during dry periods and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, this cultivar may be browsed by deer and is susceptible to slug damage on its broad leaves, particularly in damp conditions.
