Overview
Registered in 2016, *Hosta* 'Logan' is a giant cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *Hosta sieboldiana* 'Elegans' as its pod parent. It is distinguished by its fast growth rate, upright habit, and large, broadly ovate leaves that are blue-green with a glaucous bloom on both surfaces and moderately corrugated texture.
In the Garden
'Hogan' reaches a mature spread of 48 inches (121.9 cm) and a height of 24 inches (61.0 cm), with scapes rising 30 to 38 inches (76.2 to 96.5 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its substantial leaf mass makes it suitable as a specimen or accent in mixed borders. The upright form and large, corrugated leaves provide strong textural contrast when paired with finer-textured shade perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as the broad leaves are palatable to both pests.
