Overview

Registered with the American Hosta Society in 2009, 'Littlest Angel' originated from Klehm Nursery and was introduced by Cindy Nance at the 1998 convention. This miniature cultivar is visually distinctive for its small, elliptic leaves with white centers and narrow, moderately rippled green margins, creating a crisp variegated effect.

In the Garden

'Littlest Angel' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 3 inches (7.6 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and is well-suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border. Its diminutive size makes it an excellent candidate for container culture, and it pairs effectively with other miniature perennials such as small ferns or *Heuchera* cultivars.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from deer and monitor for slug damage, though the small leaf size may reduce susceptibility.
