Overview

Registered in 2004, 'Littlechap' is a miniature hosta of unknown pollen parentage, with the Japanese cultivar *Hosta* 'Kii Hime' as its pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its compact mound of small, broadly ovate leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins and a dull surface on both sides.

In the Garden

'Littlechap' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 3 inches (7.6 cm) in height and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for shaded borders, rock gardens, or troughs, and performs well in containers due to its miniature stature. Companion plants may include small ferns, *Heuchera*, or other miniature hostas in similar light conditions.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Littlechap' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in typical hosta-growing zones.
