Overview
Registered in 2008 from an unknown streaked pod parent, *Hosta* 'Little Town Flirt' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its medium blue-green leaf centers framed by creamy white, flat margins of 0.25 to 0.5 inches (0.6–1.3 cm) width. The ovate leaves, measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm) long by 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) wide, bear a glaucous bloom on the upper surface and a slightly shiny underside, with 6 to 7 vein pairs and a lightly wavy margin.
In the Garden
This compact, mound-forming plant reaches 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 28 inches (71.1 cm) in diameter at maturity, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with other small shade perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. The blue-green and white variegation provides subtle contrast against darker foliage or groundcovers.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as with most hostas.
