Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek, this miniature hosta forms a compact mound of narrow, lanceolate leaves with green centers streaked white and white margins. The 3-inch-long, 1-inch-wide leaves feature four to five vein pairs and a dull, lightly wavy surface, with the scape also exhibiting green streaking.
In the Garden
'Little Streaker' reaches 8 inches in height and 12 inches in diameter at maturity, making it suitable for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with other miniature hostas, small ferns, or low-growing groundcovers such as *Tiarella* or *Heucherella*. Its compact size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, though the small leaf size may reduce attractiveness to these pests.
