Overview
A sport of *Hosta* 'Little Miss Magic', registered in 2011, 'Little Starlet' is a small, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its yellow leaves edged with a narrow, pure white margin. The leaf blade is narrowly ovate with a tapered base and slightly wavy margins, measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm) long and 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide, with 5 to 6 pairs of veins; the upper and lower surfaces are slightly shiny.
In the Garden
'Little Starlet' reaches 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 14 inches (35.6 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate that forms a compact mound. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones and works well in rock gardens, troughs, or as a front-of-border accent. Its small size also makes it appropriate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitoring and protective measures are advisable in areas where these pests are prevalent.
