Overview

Registered in 2009 by K. Walek for the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Little Princess' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its small, ovate leaves with green margins and a dull upper surface, borne on medium green scapes 9 to 12 inches (22.9 to 30.5 cm) tall.

In the Garden

'Little Princess' forms a low, mound-like clump suitable for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or containers. Its miniature size—leaves reaching only 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in length and 1 inch (2.5 cm) in width—makes it an ideal choice for small spaces or trough gardens. It pairs well with other miniature hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant groundcovers in partial to full shade.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly on the tender new foliage.
