Overview
Registered in 2009, 'Limetini' is a small hosta cultivar resulting from a cross between a golden yellow sport of *Hosta* 'Blue Dimples' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Shining Tot' (pollen parent). It forms a compact, mound-like plant distinguished by its lime green, variegated foliage with light green, slightly rippled margins and a slightly shiny surface on both leaf sides.
In the Garden
With a mature diameter of 22 inches (55.9 cm) and height of 10 inches (25.4 cm), 'Limetini' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its small size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. The ovate, lightly wavy leaves with 10 vein pairs provide textural contrast when paired with finer-leaved perennials such as ferns or heucheras.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Limetini' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate preventive measures should be considered in areas where these pests are prevalent.
