Overview

Registered in 2008 by R. Keller and White Oak Nursery, *Hosta* 'Liam's Luck' is a small sport of *H.* 'Brenda's Beauty' distinguished by its blue-green leaves with pure white, heavily rippled margins. The ovate leaves, measuring 3.25 inches (8.3 cm) long and 2 inches (5.1 cm) wide, are intensely twisted and wavy, with eight vein pairs and a slightly shiny surface on both sides.

In the Garden

Reaching 7 inches (17.8 cm) in height and 11 inches (27.9 cm) in diameter, this small hosta forms an upright clump with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container cultivation in partial to full shade. The white-margined foliage pairs well with fine-textured shade plants such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer; old divisions remain true to variegation, though new divisions may emerge with splashed variegation before reverting to the normal pattern.
