Overview

Registered in 2007, *Hosta* 'Landslide' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, notable for its very long, ovate leaves with blue-green centers and pale yellow margins. The leaf blades reach 11 inches (27.9 cm) in length and 4 inches (10.2 cm) in width, with 7 to 8 vein pairs and a glaucous bloom on both surfaces.

In the Garden

'Landslide' forms a mound-like clump 42 inches (106.7 cm) in diameter and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height, making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its substantial leaves and pale yellow margins contrast well with darker green or gold-leaved companions such as *Hosta* 'June' or *Hemerocallis* species. The green scapes, 20 to 22 inches (50.8 to 55.9 cm) tall, bear flowers typical of the genus.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during active growth, particularly in dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as shoots emerge. Like most hostas, 'Landslide' is susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
