Overview

Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, 'Landscape One' is a small, mound-forming hosta of unknown parentage. Its primary distinction lies in the gray-green, broadly ovate leaves with flat margins and dull surfaces, borne on scapes reaching 24 to 28 inches (61.0–71.1 cm) in height.

In the Garden

'Landscape One' performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and reaches a mature mound size of approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm) in leaf length and 4 inches (10.2 cm) in width. Its compact habit suits front-of-border positions, rock gardens, or container plantings. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and small woodland perennials that echo its subdued gray-green tones.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While slug and deer resistance is not documented for this cultivar, standard preventive measures—such as diatomaceous earth or barriers—are advisable in areas where these pests are prevalent.
