Overview
Registered in 2006 by the Lakeside hybridizing program, this small hosta forms an upright mound of greenish-yellow leaves with creamy white margins. The broadly ovate foliage, measuring 4 inches long and 3 inches wide, features nine vein pairs and lightly wavy edges, with a dull surface on both sides. Its parentage includes *Hosta* 'Lakeside Knickknack' as the pod parent and an unnamed seedling as the pollen parent.
In the Garden
Reaching 8 inches in height and 18 inches in diameter, this compact cultivar is suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its variegated foliage remains stable, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other small woodland perennials. Its upright habit and very fast growth rate allow it to fill space quickly in shaded settings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Typical hosta-growing zones apply; standard precautions against slugs and deer are recommended for this small-leaved cultivar.
