Overview
A sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Knickknack', 'Lakeside Miss Muffett' was registered in 1998 by Mary Chastain. This small cultivar is distinguished by its medium green leaves with wide, white, slightly rippled margins and a compact, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
'Lakeside Miss Muffett' reaches 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and spreads to 21 inches (53.3 cm) in diameter, forming a tidy mound. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its small size makes it well-suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border. Companion plants might include small ferns, *Heuchera*, or miniature *Astilbe*.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
