Overview

Registered in 2006, 'Lakeside Little Vamp' is a miniature hosta cultivar of unknown parentage (pollen parent a seedling). It is visually distinctive for its small, broadly ovate leaves with light lime green, slightly rippled margins and a dull surface texture on both sides.

In the Garden

This miniature hosta forms a compact mound reaching approximately 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in height and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as typical for variegated hostas, and is well suited to rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its small size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. Companion plants might include other miniature hostas, small ferns, or shade-tolerant groundcovers such as *Lamium* or *Viola*.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release formulation. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage and may require protective measures in areas where these pests are prevalent. The scape reaches 7 to 9 inches (17.8 to 22.9 cm) in height, and the plant is notable for flowering three times per season.
