Overview
Registered in 1991 by M. Chastain, this small sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Prayers' is distinguished by its green leaves with medium chartreuse margins. The cordate leaf base and eight pairs of veins contribute to its compact, refined appearance.
In the Garden
With a mature diameter of 24 inches (61.0 cm) and height of 5 inches (12.7 cm), 'Lakeside Leprechaun' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for small hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or other low-growing shade perennials. Its small size makes it an excellent choice for troughs or mixed containers.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
