Overview

Registered in 2002 by Mary Chastain, *Hosta* 'Lakeside Hazy Morn' is a large, mound-forming cultivar derived from a seedling of 'Lakeside Roy El' crossed with an unnamed seedling. It is visually distinguished by its nearly round, blue-green leaves with a glaucous bloom and wide, pure white, flat margins.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches a mature diameter of 42 inches (106.7 cm) and a height of 16 inches (40.6 cm), with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, where its blue-green foliage and white margins remain most stable. The large, corrugated leaves and mound-like habit make it suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders alongside ferns, astilbes, or other hostas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many large-leaved hostas, it may be susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing.
