Overview

Registered in 2001, this small hosta cultivar of unknown parentage is distinguished by its nearly round, moderately cupped leaves of medium blue-green with a glaucous bloom on the upper surface. The leaf blades measure 4 inches (10.2 cm) in both length and width, with six vein pairs and a flat base, while the leaf margins are medium blue-green and the underside is dull.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature diameter of 18 inches (45.7 cm) and height of 10 inches (25.4 cm), this upright-growing, moderate-rate cultivar is well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging in partial to full shade. Its compact size and rounded leaf form pair effectively with small ferns, heucheras, or other diminutive perennials, and it performs well in containers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate protective measures may be necessary in typical hosta-growing zones.
