Overview
Registered in 2002 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Mom', this medium-sized cultivar is distinguished by its blue-green leaves with bright yellow margins. The leaf blade is nearly round, moderately flat, and measures 7 inches (17.8 cm) long by 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, with 12 to 13 vein pairs. The margin is a flat, bright yellow band 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) wide, while the leaf center is bright lime; the upper surface is slightly shiny, and the underside bears a glaucous bloom.
In the Garden
The plant forms a mound-like clump reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-leaved hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a groundcover in shaded beds. Its medium size and bold variegation make it an effective accent when paired with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly in moist, shaded locations.
