Overview
Registered in 2016, *Hosta* 'Kiss Me Kwick' is a medium-sized cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'Delta Dawn' (pod parent) and *H.* 'Sum and Substance' (pollen parent). The plant is visually defined by its blue-green leaves with greenish yellow, slightly rippled margins and a tight cluster of relatively small foliage that emerges with a golden cast.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a low, mound-like clump reaching 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and 16 inches (40.6 cm) in diameter, with a slow growth rate. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, where the glaucous bloom on the leaf undersides is preserved. The compact habit and ovate, cordate-based leaves suit it for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings, where it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and small woodland perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer exposures, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, though the glaucous leaf surface may offer slight resistance to some pests.
