Overview

Registered in 2007, *Hosta* 'Kenzie' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with 'Neat Splash' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its medium green, ovate leaves with broad creamy white margins, a slight sheen on the upper surface, and a lightly cupped form, a combination not replicated in other hostas of comparable size.

In the Garden

Mature plants form a compact, mound-like clump 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall and 22 inches (55.9 cm) wide, making 'Kenzie' suitable for the front of a border, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade with consistent moisture. Its small stature and clean variegation pair well with fine-textured ferns, dwarf *Heuchera*, or small sedges.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Kenzie' may be browsed by deer and is susceptible to slug damage in damp conditions; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
