Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Kiwi Full Monty', 'Hot Kiss' was registered in 2011 and is distinguished by its bright yellow leaf centers framed by medium blue-green margins. The ovate leaves are lightly wavy and corrugated, with a glaucous bloom on both surfaces, and the overall effect is a compact, mound-forming plant with pronounced color contrast.

In the Garden

'Hot Kiss' is a small hosta, reaching approximately 19 inches (48.6 cm) in height and 31 inches (78.4 cm) in diameter at maturity, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, where the yellow centers remain bright without scorching, and is well-suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. Its compact size makes it an effective companion for small ferns, heucheras, or other diminutive perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine garden maintenance.
