Registered in 2006 by an unknown originator, *Hosta* 'Hey Jude' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its ovate, medium green leaves with narrow white margins and subtle streaking. The leaf margins, approximately 0.25 inches (0.6 cm) wide, are slightly rippled and continue down the petiole, creating a consistent variegated effect.

In the Garden

'Hey Jude' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 9 inches (22.9 cm) in height and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its small size makes it suitable for rock gardens, woodland borders, or container plantings. The green leaves with white margins pair well with fine-textured shade plants such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Hey Jude' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
