Overview

Registered in 2000, *Hosta* 'Harpoon' is a medium-sized cultivar resulting from a cross between *H. 'Swoosh'* (pod parent) and *H. yingeri* (pollen parent). It is visually distinctive for its lance-shaped, medium green leaves with creamy white, slightly rippled margins, and a tapered leaf base.

In the Garden

'Harrow' forms a dense, mounding clump reaching 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a groundcover. Its medium size and upright leaf habit make it a good companion for ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
