Overview
Registered in 1997 by Paul Ruh, 'Hannah Hanson' is a small hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinguished by its green leaves with greenish yellow, slightly rippled margins and a compact, mound-like growth habit.
In the Garden
This small hosta reaches a mature diameter of 21 inches (53.3 cm) and a height of 7.5 inches (19.1 cm), forming a dense, fast-growing mound. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with other small shade perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or dwarf astilbes. Its compact size makes it suitable for container cultivation or the front of a shaded border.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may cause damage and should be monitored.
