Overview
Registered in 1999 by the Russ O'Harra Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Gypsy's Boa' is a small, fast-growing cultivar of unknown parentage. Its distinctive variegated foliage features light green leaves with slightly rippled margins, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a very shiny underside.
In the Garden
This compact hosta reaches 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and spreads to 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its small size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so monitoring and appropriate deterrents are recommended.
