Overview
Registered in 1979 by K. Carpenter, this small hosta cultivar resulted from a cross between *Hosta* 'Maya' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Kabitan' (pollen parent). It is distinguished by its narrow, bright green leaves with heavy undulating margins and a glossy upper surface, creating a distinctly wavy, textured appearance.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, making them suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging plants. They perform best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and can be grown in containers due to their small size. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and other small shade perennials that complement its narrow, wavy foliage.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage the foliage; monitor regularly and use appropriate controls if needed.
